Literary Magic will be closing our virtual doors and cease publication as of after May 20, 2011, a specific date to be announced soon. The website will remain live, but no new content will be published. Please see below for relevant information for both readers and writers. Our original close date of April 1, 2011 has been extended to after May 20, 2011.

Copyright: In order to give our authors as much value as they can gain from their contributions, we want to make sure they can use their content however they please, and will therefore will remove it from the website if requested to do so.

There will still be content available on, but until further notice, updates will be few if any.

Open Positions for Editors in the Future: At this point, due primarily to time constraints, it is unclear whether Literary Magic will re-open in the future. However, we welcome any aspiring editors, writers or other literati to contact us with any ideas on maintaining the website operations. Financing will not be an issue.

2010 Writing Competitions: The December 2010 writing competition will still be releasing its results and critiquing, paying (for the first-place winners) and publishing all entries. In order to be fair to the contest winners, the stories will remain on until the date mentioned above.

From the Editor: On behalf of the entire Literary Magic staff, we thank all the loyal readers, hard-working writers and caring editors whose passion for writing, the written word and literature helped not only spark the fire of Literary Magic, but fueled it. Looking back, Literary Magic itself can be viewed as a story, a place replete with quality content but led with a cast of editors, writers and readers who serve as realistic, believable and well-developed characters.

Comments: Please e-mail with any questions, suggestions, concerns or comments.

Take care, and have a wonderful day. Good luck on all your writing dreams!

Yours literally,
Rocky Reichman
Literary Magic, Editor-in-Chief
